Hat patterns + The Yarn Harlat + What we've been working on!

For anyone looking to knit baby hats for charity, or for family and friends, Warm Up America has some great patterns for hats and other items to knit for charity.  Just scroll down their page a bit and you'll find hat patterns to knit and crochet.  This link also includes patterns for pneumonia vests and baby caps.  And if you're interested in knitting for specific charities, I highly recommend the book Knitting for Peace.  It has really nice patterns and contact information for various organizations. Happy knitting!

For those who follow The Yarn Harlot, Stephanie Pearl-McPhee is visiting London this month:

Friday, January 20 at 7pm - "An Evening with Stephanie"
Cotton-By-Post.  21581 Richmond St. North, London, Ontario. Phone for more details at 519-518-6134.
She's also teaching classes that weekend, but she's so popular they've sold out.

And finally, here's what we've been working on (well done, everyone!):

Our next meeting is February 7th at 7pm.  See you then!

  1. Hi - Thanks for all of the useful information. I still need some more information. I have a large bag of partial balls of (mostly) chunky yarn. Can the women's shelter use this? Senior's centre?

    See you on Tuesday.

  2. Hi Celia,

Yes, the shelter can still use more knitting supplies. If you bring your extras to the next meeting I'll make sure they're delivered to the shelter.

    Thanks!
