Alpaca farm - May 26th
In addition to the Fleece and Fibrefest event on May 27th, some guild members will also be visiting an alpaca farm on Saturday, May 26th. The Alpaca farm visit offers two options for a tour -10am and 1pm - take your pick for a time slot. Guild guests are welcome.
You might want to bring money/credit as there is a farm shop. You can find out more by visiting the farm's website: Alpaca's from Eighth and Mud.
Have fun!

The visit to Alpaca at Eighth and Mud was a great event; many thanks to Sharon and John for hosting our Guild. Sharon took through the entire process of wool farming. The alpaca wool is spun and dyed there - in fact, one may order a specific ply and colouring based upon the Alpacas natural colouring or request a dyed colour. The shop was amazing with items from rovings to various plied and coloured or natural wools and finished garments. The pear zing jelly was awesome - a surprize bite to it. Sharon makes wonderful fudge too. I am heading back this weekend for more wool....and, I really want to see the shearing. Definitely worthwhile to visit; time was just under 20 minutes from Ancaster.
