Around The Bay Knitting Guild is where people from the Hamilton area meet to knit together, hear speakers, and plan interesting outings related to knitting.
Our next meeting is on Tuesday, May 5th, beginning at 7 pm. We will be meeting in the 2nd floor Community Room of the Fortino’s store, 1579 Main St W, Hamilton, L8S 1E6 (off Rifle Range Road): $2.00 at the door, $10.00 for non-members.
BUT, PLEASE REMEMBER, WE MUST NOT BRING IN ANY OUTSIDE FOODS OR DRINKS TO FORTINOS!
This meeting is open to everyone. We look forward to seeing you there!
HOMEWORK: The speaker at the May 5th meeting will talk about knitting short rows. In order for you to get the most out of the speaker’s demonstration we recommend that you:
• knit and bring one (or more) swatches on knitting needles. We suggest the usual, 20-odd stitches wide, 4 inches long. Use heavy enough yarn and needles to see what you are doing. That usually means worsted weight and 4.5 mm needles. Don't bind off; keep the swatch(es) on the needles. (You might want to have a few sets ready to practice with). Also bring stitch markers; they help with some styles of short rows.
Please note the following additional information:
Membership: Membership dues will remain at $25.00 for the next year in addition to door entry fee ($2 per meeting). Guests are welcome to attend one regular meeting for free.
