Bob Kemp Hospice

The Bob Kemp Hospice runs a bereavement camp every June in Bracebridge.  It is called Camp Erin and 50 children, aged 6-17 attend.  They have all suffered the loss of either a parent, sibling, grandparent, or someone else close to them.  For more information please visit:  https://kemphospice.org/camp-erin
Project Linus has been asked to supply the children with a cuddly blanket as something they could be comforted by.  Because of our Guild's current relationship with Project Linus, we have been asked to be involved in this request.  Your ongoing support of Project Linus is appreciated.  Please continue to give your Project Linus blankets to Jo Ann at our regular meetings.  Your donated blankets will be shared not only with Women's shelters, but also with the children of Camp Erin.  Thank you!!

Help Needed

Please read attached note and if you feel that you can help, then get knitting.

September 19, 2017
The floods in northern Manitoba have seriously disrupted many Indigenous communities. Families had to be evacuated to Winnipeg from isolated communities…Cross Lake; Split Lake; York Landing etc.
Some are being returned to their communities this week while others remain in Winnipeg.
Rail way lines were flooded out. There is talk that the tracks will not be replaced. This is the only transportation for many families to get out and shop for food and clothes.
There is a serious need for mitts, hats and knitted slippers. Any assistance from knitters, and or donations of hats, mitts and slippers would be greatly appreciated. Any financial donation would be used to purchase these items or the yarn to knit them. These items will be mailed out on October 27, 2017.
Ladies from Six Nations Parish will accept donations on Fridays from10:00 am -2:00 PM and pack them for shipping. The address is 1631 Chiefswood Road. Ohsweken On.
If you can help or have questions please call (519) 445-4204; (905) 768- 3891
Many Thanks and Blessings to You and yours.
